Alot of fundamentlist Christian religions do that, if you listen to them on the radio they say the same thing over and over, I think it kind of puts their listners in a hypnotic buzz, I was listening to a Christian station on the radio today and the song they were singing kept repeating the same lyric over and over it must have been at least twenty times, my head started to hurt listening to it and it reminded me of my JW Tower study days.

What is there to learn?
by 2112 ini mean really, besides changing some stupid rules now and then what is there for a jw to learn?
how many biblical truths or new understandings have come out in the last 3,5,or 10, years?
they keep on "studying" and yet they learn nothing new.

Did Jehovah destroy millions with a flood in Noah's day?
by fish in.
jesus seemed to believe in the story of noah's flood.
i wonder if god really drowned millions of people like the bible says for simply eating and drinking and not taking any note?

Yes Slacker but the minority of people that followed the Witnesses from 1968 to1975 turned out to be wrong, the majority of people who were skeptical and didn't listen when the witnesses called on them were right, unlike the majority who didn't listen to Noah.

Really how likely would you be to believe it if somebody came around and said there is going to be some kind of worldwide catastrophe which you have never seen before but you better follow me or you'll die. I think most people in any age would be skeptical.
Woudn't it have been better for God to have appeared in the sky and told the world listen to Noah and follow him or your all going to die, then I think Noah would have had plenty of believers join him on the ark.
This idea of faith in things unseen troubles me because people are more likely to be misled by following somebody based on faith and arrive in a place like Jonestown as they are to get it right and make it to the ark.

Is Jehovah trying to stumble us?
by ButtLight inif you think about it, he obviously knows we are imperfect.
he knows that there are tons of religions to choose from.
now if we are imperfect, and choose to be catholic cause we believe it to be the right religion, we die?

This world is lying in the power of the wicked ones, and I don't think the JW explanation of a contest between God and the Devil explains it all for me because I think the Devil is kicking Gods butt right now, maybe God should put a napkin on his head when the Devil enters the room. The point was proven long ago that man cannot rule this world without a Gods help, is there a God who will step forward?

I think my best prank was when I left Bethel. The day I was leaving they announced on Bethel t.v. no going away parties for anyone leaving Bethel. I immediately got on the phone called everybody I knew and told them to meet me where I worked in the Squibb building,I then ran out to a nearby store in Brooklyn Heights, on the work time clock and purchased pizza, cake and a bunch of party plates and hats, and we had a big party with Bethel elders walking by giving us all the stink eye.

My rotten JW weekend
by LtCmd.Lore inugh... yesterday (saturday) we did spring cleaning, in the rain!!!
we were outside for about 3 hours in the freezing rain, raking leaves and spreading mulch.
just so we could look good for the memorial... we weren't even allowed to go inside to warm up because the had already cleaned everything and we were soaked.

Just like in slavery times they try to keep the Watchtower slaves so busy and tired they don't have time to think. Leisure time and comfort is the great enemy of the Watchtower ruling class.

My cat is a freak!
by Scully inwe adopted an abandoned kitten almost a year ago.
at the time, she was just a little ball of fluff and my youngest found her caught in the hedge near the house.
she couldn't have been more than 5 weeks old at the time.. she's recently gotten into the habit of chewing plastic.

I have heard they put shredded up plastic in with commercial cat foods, if thats true and you feed your cat commercial soft cat food that may be why they like plastic so much. My cat, a Burmese, also loves plastic and I have to fight to get it out of his mouth if I hear him eating it, seriously he'll take a swipe at me if I try to take the plastic away from him, he'll even growl at me.

Currently half way through CC, served at Bethel and remember Ray from the seventies, not wierd like his uncle, he and Dan Sidlick were the coolest GBers, Knorr was the toughest. Don't dare give this book to my 93 year old JW dad, not that he would read it if I did, but this fills in the gaps of things I felt but could not prove.

If this were some old person in the hospital the elders I knew may never get there for a visit, but given a chance to go and disfellowship somebody, hot diggity dog the elders are right there on top of it, right on top of it, this is what they live for. When I was a JW you couldn't count time for actually doing something kind or charitable for somebody sick or old and alone.
